Girl’s Night Out — THIS THURSDAY!

Please join us THIS THURSDAY, March 1st, from 6-9pm, for Roslindale’s first ever Girl’s Night Out! Gather your girlfriends, sisters, mothers, or daughters. Get a babysitter, and come out for the evening for a little shopping, a little gabbing and a little nibbling ! At least TEN of our local shops are participating and will be offering specials, tastes, trunk shows, gifts and more! For Sarida’s girls, we are offering Belgium chocolates and bubbly throughout the evening. Additionally… The first 20 girls will receive a FREE hand-painted champagne glass, graciously made and donated by our resident artists, Lex Thomas of LexieGlass. We are also unveiling our newest arrival, Threla — naturally derived beauty and spa products and scrumptious scents for the home. We are going away for February vacation, so we will be CLOSED from Sunday 2/19 to Tuesday 2/28. We reopen on Wednesday February 29th (happy leap year!) from 11am to 5:30pm.

Pysanky Easter Egg Class!

Pysanky Easter Egg Workshop  A pysanka (Ukrainian: писанка, plural: pysanky) is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated using a wax-resist (batik) method. The word comes from the verb pysaty, “to write”, as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax. The word pysanka refers specifically to an egg decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs, and is not a generic term for any egg decorated using wax resist.   Date/Time: March 6th, 2012 6:30-9:30pm Class Description: In this workshop we will be making beautiful Ukrainian Easter eggs- pysanky. You will learn the method of batik – also called wax-resist- dying. You will also be familiarized with the wide range of Ukrainian folk art traditional patterns, designs and symbols and their history. December 15th Holiday Wander — Shop with us and support an arts-based after school program!

This week, please join us for the Roslindale Main Street’s Holiday Wander from 5pm to 8pm! We are featuring the artwork of SEVENTY local artists and we are very excited to help support an amazing kids after-school art program in JP called KidsArts! Our son, Chance, has been attending both the KidsArts! after school program and their summer and school holiday camps for the last two years. This is truly an amazing program staffed by some absolutely fantastic people! To show our support of giving children arts-based programs, we are donating 15% of our ENTIRE day’s sales this Thursday (12/15) to KidsArts!
